Amazon Does Amazing Things for Our Communities is Amazon’s initiative to support and uplift the places we call home—including the Commonwealth of Virginia. From the Blue Ridge to the Eastern Shore, Amazon is partnering with local organizations to strengthen communities through volunteerism, donations, and meaningful local engagement. In Virginia, our efforts are especially focused on supporting rural areas, advancing education, improving access to essential services, and building trust between communities and those who serve them.

To invest in the well-being and resilience of Virginia’s diverse communities—especially small towns and rural areas—by empowering local institutions, expanding opportunities, and creating positive community connections.

• Supporting Small, Rural Law Enforcement:
  We assist rural police and sheriff’s departments across Virginia in obtaining critical supplies and resources to support community-oriented policing programs. This includes      helping fund or donate items such as bicycles for youth patrol programs, equipment for school outreach, and materials for public events—fostering trust and engagement between law enforcement and residents.
• Education & Youth Development:
  We partner with schools across the state to provide students with the tools they need to succeed—whether through donations of supplies, support for STEM learning, or mentorship opportunities.
• Hunger & Housing Relief:
  Amazon collaborates with food banks and nonprofits in rural and underserved communities to provide consistent access to meals and basic necessities.
• Disaster & Emergency Response:
  Leveraging Amazon’s logistics network, we support rapid response efforts to natural disasters impacting Virginia communities, especially in remote areas where aid is harder to reach.
• Employee Volunteerism & Local Investment:
  Our Virginia-based team members give back by volunteering in their communities, supporting local nonprofits, and participating in hands-on projects that make a real difference.

• Partnered with over 25 rural law enforcement agencies to support community engagement programs.
• Donated 1 million meals across the Commonwealth, including remote and Appalachian regions.
• Supported over 100 public schools with essential supplies and technology.
• Contributed more than 20,000 volunteer hours by Virginia-based Amazon employees.
